Upper Tuscarawas River Watershed Action Plan with Cost Estimates
(January, 2001)
This Action Plan is an update of the
Upper Tuscarawas River
Watershed Watershed Action Plan completed by the Northeast
Ohio Four County Regional Planning and Development Organization
(NEFCO) in 1999. The Action Plan is a strategic plan
that aims to restore and protect water quality, habitat, wildlife,
and recreational and commercial uses of natural resources in the
Watershed. The Plan outlines a series of seven goals and
numerous objectives that, if achieved, should lead to a higher
level of environmental quality and a preservation of important
resources. This updated Action Plan now contains cost
estimates for various waters quality restoration and protection
methods; as well as, a Cost Analysis table that can help in
ascertaining the likelihood of implementing the many actions that
the Plan contains.
The preparation of this report by the NEFCO
was financed through the
Summit Soil
and Water conservation District (SWCD). The funding
originated from the State's Canal Lakes Watershed Management
Program, which is part of the
Ohio Department of Natural Resources Improvements Budget.
The report was approved by NEFCO's General Policy Board in January
2001.
