Nimishillen Creek Watershed 2002 Macroinvertebrate Survey

(March 2003)

Macroinvertebrates are organisms (such as insect, worms, clams, and crayfish) that lack a backbone and are visible with the naked eye.  The condition of a creek’s macroinvertebrate community can provide information needed to measure water quality, as well as identify areas possibly needing improvements.  Funded by the City of Canton and completed by NEFCO, this report presents the results of macroinvertebrate data taken from selected sites with the Nimishillen Creek Watershed in 2002.  This report was approved by NEFCO's General Policy Board in March 2003.
