Back and bigger than ever!  The Nimishillen Creek Watershed Partners are pleased to announce the sixth annual Nimishillen Creek LEAP clean-up will be held along the East Branch in Nimishillen Township and the City of Louisville.  The 2007 clean-up will include the Nimishillen Township clean-up site that was postponed in 2006 due to rain and high water. 

 

Volunteers are needed to help pick up debris and remove log jams along the section of the East Branch between Main Street and Beck Avenue.  Those interested are asked to meet at 9:00 am at 608 Enterprise Ave. located off Route 44 in Louisville.  From there volunteers will be directed to clean-up sites along the creek.  A free lunch for the volunteers will following the event at the Louisville Constitution Center (1022 W. Main Street).

 

What to Bring and Wear:

  • Clothes that you don’t mind getting wet or muddy

  • Rubber soled shoes, hiking boots, or waders

  • A hat and/or sunscreen

  • Long pants and long-sleeve shirt

  • Bug repellent

  • Leave your valuables behind (things you don’t want to get wet or lost in the Creek!)

  • Gloves and trash bags will be provided

Waiver Forms:

For faster registration the day of the event, you can print out the waiver form below and bring it to the clean-up.  All participants under the age of 18 must have the minor waiver form signed by a parent or guardian.  

 

Parking:

  • You can park your vehicle at the meeting location (608 Enterprise Ave.)

  • Lunch Parking is available at the Constitution Center (1022 W. Main St.)
