East Branch of Nimishillen Creek

City of Louisville

The Nimishillen Creek Watershed Partners would like to thank organizers, sponsors, and the over 30 volunteers for making 2005 Nimishillen Creek LEAP another successful creek clean-up!  This years event was held along the East Branch of Nimishillen Creek in the City of Louisville.  From 9:00 a.m. until noon, volunteers picked up trash along the East Branch from the Main Street Bridge to the State Route 44 Bridge by Carter Lumber (scroll down for more pictures of the event).  Enough trash was removed from the creek and along the banks to fill up a 10-yard dumpster.  In addition over 35 tires were removed from the area.

Besides clean-up volunteers, the 2005 Nimishillen Creek LEAP also had tremendous support from local agencies and businesses.  The Watershed Partners were able to hold such a successful event thanks largely to the support from LEAP Sponsors.  These sponsors, listed at the bottom of the page, covered all the event costs including equipment and supplies like dumpsters, trash hauling, rakes, shovels, gloves, trash bags, food and beverage.
